Index Information:

Notes from the compiler of the indexes:
This Beacon Lights index includes all the issues from 1941 through 2000. Some explanation is needed for figuring out parts of it, particularly the volume/issue/page column. Some of the volumes in the set used by the Beacon Lights organization were bound together with other volumes, and a wrong volume number was put on the front cover. For example, some of the issues from Volume 26 of the Beacon Lights are indexed in a book marked “Volume 27.” I indexed them as the correct volume, with the volume number on the book in parentheses behind it.

“In Volume 24 (Book 25), there are two Issue 8s. I indexed them as 8a and 8b

“When I got to the volumes marked only by a year, I put volume numbers on them, following the last volume number I had. However, when they started putting volume numbers on the books again, they were back to a number that had already been used. Therefore, there is a Volume 51a & 51b, and the same with 52 and 53.”

The indexes are in Acrobat PDF format. To view them you need either the Acrobat program, or the FREE reader available for download from www.adobe.com

Search options and suggestions:

Search with the Beacon Lights website (site:)
Google allows you to specify that your search results must come from a given website. For example, the query [ covenant site:beaconlights.org ] will return pages about covenant but only from beaconlights.org. Phrase search ("")
By putting double quotes around a set of words, you are telling Google to consider the exact words in that exact order without any change. Google already uses the order and the fact that the words are together as a very strong signal and will stray from it only for a good reason, so quotes are usually unnecessary. By insisting on phrase search you might be missing good results accidentally. For example, a search for [ "God’s covenant" ] (with quotes) will miss the pages that refer to God’s eternal covenant.

Download text onto your computer, open the file in a word processor program, and use “find” in the editing feature.

The text files were created by scanning the issues into pdf files and then using optical character recognition software to make it into a text file that can be searched and use in any type of word processor software. Although each issue was proofread afterward, you may still come across text mistakes. Please check with the original pdf file if the wording is uncertain. When using these files for research, please cite the author, Beacon Lights, page number and date of publication.
